A Boot Camp for Film Making
Cinema has weaved its magic on billions and billions of people throughout the last ten decades. It has held people in its grip and transported them to a world of dreams. In the process they have known joy, excitement, fear. They have cried and laughed. It has motivated them to reach out to newer heights and showed them the fallacy of their ways.
The fascination catches a child at a young age and with a handy cam or a good cell phone, youngsters go out to make brilliant films.
Cinema has no parallel in its hold on human emotions. There is little wonder that so many aspire to become filmmakers. Actors, Writers, Directors, Cinematographers, Sound designers all desire to go out and tell their unique story, become dream merchants.
Filmmaking has changed dramatically in the last hundred years. Today all that you require to make a film is an inspiration and a cell phone. With the advent of digital media it has become possible to shoot, edit and share a film within a few minutes and costs have gone down with leaps and bounds.
There however remains a gap between shooting a film and telling a story. From idea to realization, the process of filmmaking remains one of creativity.
The path is filled with heartbreaks as obstacles after obstacles appear. Some obstacles are physical, some appear due to lack of experience and others because of lack of knowledge.
Filmmaking is made of many creative crafts. Some excel in writing, some in photography, some can weave magic with their direction and some can take an insipid film and edit it into a masterpiece. Sound, Art Design, Music, Costumes, Acting, Production Design, all come together to create the perfect film. That is why filmmaking is called a team effort.
Creativity can be polished, not taught. Film craft though, can be learnt. This boot camp is designed for those enthusiasts who are passionate about filmmaking and wish to take their passion further.
The boot camp will show you how to take an idea and develop it into a complete short film. Every member shall be encouraged to take part in all spheres of filmmaking, find their own feet in what they love best and leave them with a strong background in all stages of filmmaking.
The final project will have the individual stamp of each of its creators a film for their show reel, an IMDB credit and the confidence to go out and make a film on their own.
